Rose

Rose came to North Devon 5 years ago. Rose was born in this country, but she also has Jamaican heritage: her parents came to Britain in the 1950s. Rose has fond memories of her journey growing up in a Jamaican household, which influenced her upbringing, life and work.

Rose has twin boys and a daughter. Rose’s passion is community development work, and she includes music and reading as relaxing activities. A big football fan, she also loves cooking for her family and friends.

“By the time I went to secondary school I started to realise I was living side-by-side in 2 different cultures. Everything English was outside my front door, and at home everything else had my strong Jamaican heritage running through me”.
