Deaf Culture
Exeter Deaf Academy have made a series of films telling the life stories of some of their former students, as part of a project, called Signs of the Times
They aim to provide an insight into the history of Exeter Deaf Academy and of Deaf history in Exeter, and to raise awareness of Deaf history and Deaf culture to help people in the Deaf community take pride in their past and shared culture.
The films are subtitled so they are accessible to both hearing and Deaf communities, and may be viewed on the Deaf Academy’s youtube channel

This lovely song was written by Palestinian student Fadi Al Naji, and is performed here by Fadi on the oud, with David Heathfield on backing vocals and tambourine.
