Honiton and Ilfracombe exhibitions open in November

A year and a half of hard work and dedication and at last, an opportunity to share it more widely with you all.

Our multicultural history project’s two exhibitions will open in the towns of Honiton and Ilfracombe later this month.

You can read fascinating newly unearthed details in the histories of both towns as researched by a committed team of volunteers including the stories of Romany Gypsies, Polish settlers and Basque refugee children who lived in Honiton; and Coco the Clown, the shipwreck of the HMS London and the Swiss Café in Ilfracombe as well as many more.

There will also be recordings of some of the volunteers’ personal stories to listen to.

In Honiton the exhibition runs from 23rd November to 21st December Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 to 5 pm at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Dowell Street, Honiton, EX14 1LX.

In Ilfracombe the exhibition runs from 20 th November through to the end of December and may be extended into the New Year.

The venue is the Ilfracombe Museum, Wilder Road, Ilfracombe, EX34 8AF. The opening times are Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm.
